Yes, and above ground pools arguably benefit more than in ground ones. They tend to be shallower, warmer and closer to trees, which is the combination that grows algae and collects debris fastest. Most above ground pools sit well under 800 sq ft, which means coverage is rarely the constraint. Run time and debris capacity usually matter more.
Weight, because you lift it over a wall. This is the most underrated specification in the category. You are lifting a wet robot over a 48 to 54 inch wall, often at arm's length over the side. Searches for above ground pool cleaners peak in October, not July. That is not people shopping for the summer, it is people closing their pools and deciding what to buy for next year, often against end of season pricing.
If that is where you are, two things are worth knowing.
Run the robot before you close, not after. Debris left on the floor over winter stains liners and feeds algae under the cover, so the last clean of the season is the one that determines what you find in spring. A full floor and wall cycle before the cover goes on saves real work in April.
Store the robot dry and indoors. These are lithium battery machines. Leaving one in an unheated shed through a freeze is the fastest way to shorten its life. Rinse it with fresh water, particularly after saltwater use, let it dry fully, and store it above freezing. Check the manufacturer guidance on charge level for long term storage, as it varies by model.
Buying in autumn also means you start next season with the robot already set up and tested, rather than discovering a problem on the first hot weekend when you actually want to swim.
Not every above ground pool needs one, and it is worth being honest about that.

There is no fixed limit, but weight is the specification people most often regret ignoring. If one person handles the pool, or the surround is narrow, treat anything over about 15 lbs as a real consideration. The A1 at 7.7 lbs and the B1 at 14.2 lbs are the easiest here to lift over a wall.
