Corded Robotic Pool Cleaners

A corded robotic pool cleaner draws power through a floating cable, so it never stops to recharge. For a large pool, or one in constant use, that is the difference between finishing a full clean in one pass and splitting it across two sessions with a charge in between.

The cable is the trade-off. It needs feeding into the water and untangling afterwards, and its length sets how far the unit can reach from the power point.

This is part of our wider Robotic Pool Cleaners range. For most typical home pools, compare against cordless models, which are simpler to live with.

When a Corded Cleaner Is the Right Choice

  • Large pools. Continuous power means no run time ceiling. If a full clean takes several hours, a corded unit completes it in a single session.
  • Heavy or commercial use. Where the pool is cleaned daily, the absence of a charging cycle matters more than the convenience of no cable.
  • Cable length sets your reach. Check it against the distance from your power point to the far end of the pool, including the depth. This is the specification people most often overlook.
  • Cable management is a real task. Modern units use swivel connections to reduce tangling, but the cable still has to be fed in and coiled afterwards. Factor that into every clean.
  • Filtration matters as much as suction. A long run only helps if the filter holds what it collects. Check the filter rating if your issue is fine silt rather than leaves.
  • Confirm what surfaces it covers. Floor only, or floor, walls and waterline. Longer run times make full coverage more practical, but the unit still has to be rated for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a corded pool cleaner more powerful than cordless?

Not necessarily more powerful, but it runs indefinitely. The real advantage is endurance rather than suction, which is why it suits large or heavily used pools.

How long is the cable?

It varies by model and is listed on the product page. Measure from your power point to the furthest corner of the pool, and allow for depth as well as surface distance.

Does the cable tangle?

It can. Swivel connections reduce it considerably but do not eliminate it. Feeding the cable in evenly at the start of a cycle makes the most difference.

Can I leave a corded cleaner in the pool?

Generally no. Most manufacturers advise removing the unit and storing it out of the water after a cycle. Check the product page for the specific guidance.

Corded or cordless for a typical home pool?

For most residential pools, cordless is simpler and the run time is sufficient. Choose corded when pool size or usage frequency makes recharging a genuine inconvenience.
