Wet & Dry Vacuums

Choosing a Wet and Dry Vacuum

• Clean and dirty water stay separate. This is the core of the design and the main reason it beats a mop and bucket. Check both tank capacities, because they decide how much floor you cover before a refill.
• Edge cleaning decides how much you finish by hand. Most of the work these machines save is along skirting boards and around kickboards. Look at how close the roller reaches to the edge.
• Hot water and steam are different things. Some models wash with heated water. The Roborock F25 Ultra adds steam and high temperature cleaning, aimed at grease and sticky residue rather than loose dirt.
• Self-cleaning and drying matter more than they sound. A roller left damp is what causes odour. Docks that wash and then dry the roller with warm air are the difference between a machine you keep using and one that ends up in a cupboard.
• Check the weight if you have stairs. These are upright machines and heavier than a cordless stick vacuum. If you carry it between floors regularly, the weight on the product page is worth reading.
• They do not replace a robot vacuum. A wet and dry vacuum is a manual tool for a specific mess. A robot vacuum handles routine daily dust. Many households run both, which is why the bundles pair them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a wet and dry vacuum and a robot vacuum and mop?

A robot vacuum and mop runs on a schedule and handles light routine cleaning without you. A wet and dry vacuum is pushed by hand, applies far more water and scrubbing pressure, and is meant for real spills and stuck-on dirt.

Can it pick up liquid spills?

Yes, that is the main use case. Liquid is drawn into a separate dirty water tank rather than a dust bin, so the machine handles wet and dry debris in the same pass.

Does it clean its own roller?

On the models in this collection, yes. The dock washes the roller after use, and several also dry it with warm air, which is what prevents odour building up.

Is steam better than hot water?

They do different jobs. Heated water improves general washing. Steam, on the F25 Ultra, targets grease and sticky residue. For everyday floors the difference is small; for a busy kitchen it is noticeable.

Can I use it on carpet or rugs?

Some models include a carpet or upholstery mode, but these machines are designed for hard floors. Check the product page before using one on carpet.

Do I still need a stick vacuum?

For stairs, upholstery and car interiors, yes. A wet and dry vacuum is a hard floor tool. The cordless stick vacuums in this collection cover what it cannot reach.
